When I wake up now, I look outside
first-just to see how stunning the sunrise will be. As the sun
starts coming up earlier every day, the sunrises seem to get more
beautiful. I love waking up and seeing something wonderful to
smile at right away; the beautiful pinks and lavenders and blues
just have a way of ringing in a pretty, new day. Yesterday, the
back of the house featured an ombre effect of the colors, while from
the front windows the view was choppy and channeled and much more
delineated by brighter colors. How does that happen-same sky, two
different views and two different affects??? I also marvel how we
are one country, and while we have nearly perfect weather, another
section of our country can have such drastically different weather.

So while I was resting my eyes on the
sky, the special of the week crossed my mind, and I decided that with
all the sports events in our area this weekend, we should feature
sports fabric. Pick anything depicting sports or a sports team
and get 20% off your purchase of at least one yard. We have just
gotten in some cool Olympics patterned fabric-yes, the Olympics are
fast approaching (did you watch the ice skating nationals last
weekend?), as well as golf, basketball, tennis, and other
sports-representing fabrics. This seems to be a key sports
weekend, so if you fancy the dice or card games, we'll also call them
sporting events and include them in the 20% off specials. And to
honor the Super Bowl game on Sunday, if you buy fabric containing the
colors red, white and/or blue honoring the Patriots and the
Giants, we'll also honor those colors in the special.

you just might want to partake of BERNINA's special for the

event Sat. Feb. 11 is still on, so please sign up. Some of our
customers have sewn with her at various guild events, and the word out
there is that she's fun, has lots of information to impart, and her
classes are worthwhile. So please join us-we're depending on you!
Think about Ruth Gordon's
"Tricks of the Trade" later in the month, when she will be
focusing on color and how to pick and use color in your quilts.
She had some experienced quilters in her class in Jan., and they
were pleased with how many new tips they learned from Ruth. There
is just so much information, so many helpful tips, and so little
time.........
