We
will be embroidering with thicker threads using the open work
butterflies. You can embroider on a piece of clothing, towels, or just
plain fabric to be made into something later. This is a class for both
the seasoned embroider or the beginner
I
will be teaching classes to make all 4 of the wall hangings by The
Stitch Connection. You can do one, all, or pick and choose. The
designs have been digitized both for regular embroidery or so that you
can create the quilt that will look like appliqué. Each class will be
two sessions long and then you will go home and quilt to your liking.
If you are either new to embroidery or a seasoned embroiderer you will
have fun with these projects. September 16 at 1:30pm, will not be a
sewing day, but one to discuss and help with fabrics and threads.
October 7, & 21 will be embroidering and sewing. Winter wall hanging will
be on October 21 and Nov. 4. and be an evening class! 5:30 to 8:30pm.
Spring and Summer wall hanging will be scheduled next
quarter.
Date: This class has been
postponed, it will be rescheduled when pattern is available.
This
project can be made in various sizes. The top is made with fat
quarters. Choose your theme and fabrics or make it to match a bed
quilt. Great as gifts.
This classroom sample has been creating bunches and bunches of interest!
Come by and see it. And even better still, sign up early for this
class. Here is a chance to learn curved piecing. It is not as
difficult as you would think. Come join us and have a good time.
John will once again be here for your questions. If you do not
understand how to do something then this is the class for you. You will
need to bring your laptop, blank CD, and a USB stick, especially if your
questions concern these tools and devices. This is a class where YOU
will be working your computer, not a time for John to work on your
computer.
Don’t be a desperate
housewife or quilter, either. This new “happening” at Sun Valley
Quilts has drawn 15 to 36 participants monthly. It is rapidly becoming
a real favorite with all the information sharing and wonderful ’show &
tell’ items the participants bring in. Wasn’t that ’Cathedral Window’
something to behold? Bring something to share…finished or still in
construction. We love to see what your working on! Each 2nd
Saturday morning, we will have a free quilter’s corner--- with
new products, new fabrics, new ideas and lots of information. A short
demo or two, a project handout, and show and tell round out our “menu”
of activities. And you get a free gift for showing up, too. The
days or times may vary, but generally we have reserved 9:30 to
10:30am.
By request, a follow up
to the basic “Harmonic Convergence Quilt”, the second example of
converging fabrics. This is a variation on the ones in the book, but
works better with commercially printed fabrics. While the class sample
is made with fun Holiday prints, another example will be shown with
bright florals. Almost anything goes here! A great way to enjoy
playing with fabric.
Do
you own either Version 5 or 6 software and still want help in using this
marvelous program. We will use your program to design a Christmas Tree
Skirt or a Table Topper.
Bring your laptop, software, and the EQ5 Quilt Design Book, if you have
it. Classroom instruction sheets will be available. This class is
software instruction only: no sewing. This 2 part class will be
Saturday afternoons.
Quilt- as -you- sew this cozy flannel throw. Every seam will take you
closer to completion with this method and there are no raggedy edges,
either. As you warm yourself with this quilt, warm a child‘s heart by
providing a gift for a little one who‘s hope is at risk. Bring a
special toy for a girl or boy to love. These will be donated to our
firemen to distribute as needed this holiday season.
This flower design offers three way of stitching; traditional embroidery
with 4 different LACE FILLS for the flower, ALL APPLIQUÉ where
everything is appliquéd and PARTIAL APPLIQUÉ with appliquéd flower and
lace fills on the leaf and petal. This is a great class for a beginner
and a wonderful way to use some of your great reproduction fabrics that
you have been collecting.
This quilt is a
quilt-as-you-go project, so so when you are done, you’re done. It a Fun
and Done pattern by Priarie Sky Quilting. We will be learning to use
the Balling Buddy tool which is very helpful for the quilts, too. It is
fun to do with friends so come together with Jody’s 3rd
Friday girls for this enjoyable day of quilting, lunch out, and
fellowship.

appliqué in place for machine finishing----with FUSIBLE THREAD!!! Great

your repertoire. Simple applique patterns will be provided, or use your
