February skills will focus on advanced use of the heart, circle and oval templates. Other featured skills will include reverse applique and free motion with the Martelli Gripper ring. As always, you are free to bring your own UFO?s to get design ideas and/or quilt with a group of like-minded quilters who enjoy the social atmosphere. March we will again be working on finishing up any UFO's, plus I will address how to create Baptist Fans as an overall quilting motif or a border. April will see us working on individual projects and working on using circles as a border in many different forms including arcs, waves, and orange peel format.
Each of the 37 blocks in this book has a double, albeit with different fabric placement. Design your own quilt/table runner/wall hanging or quilt with the blocks of your choice for a totally unique project. You will not be making all of the blocks shown in the book (unless you always like to make king size quilts and feel cheated if you don't take advantage of everything in the book!) In other words, don't feel obligated to make a quilt the size of the classroom sample. Blocks are make by straight piecing and paper piecing and finish at 12". Come to class for color ideas, tips on piecing, to socialize or just to have a boost to complete the quilt. You will not regret owning this book as it is full of fabulous ideas.
