We are pleased to announce a new opportunity for quilters who use rulers or wish to learn how to quilt with rulers. Starting in July, Marilyn Manwaring will be offering a class each month that uses rulers. If you wish to forego the project, feel free to bring UFO's or projects that you would like to receive individualized instruction upon. This is an ongoing monthly class that will teach you how to finish and quilt your own quilts using rulers. Any project you wish to bring and receive individualized instruction upon is welcome. Marilyn will also have an ongoing quilt pattern available if you wish to work on that. The quilt featured until the end of the year will be the "Folded Corners" quilting hanging in our classroom. The atmosphere in class is laid back and convivial - lots of visiting and new friends to make. Come, have fun and learn to quilt your projects with rulers! Starting January 2020 we will begin the Hoffman "Big Dream Dahlia" panel class

Got scraps? We will meet monthly to use those scraps to make beautiful items. This is a sit-and-sew club and every month LeAnn will present an option for using scraps. We will teach you about fabric and threads that we sell, needles, and stabilizers to help you make the best decision about the products you choose to use. Lynn will demonstrate the long arms and ruler work for those who want to know what all the fuss is about, also techniques like hooping designs and transferring them from discs or online into your machine for stitch out. We hope you will join us to listen and learn more about sewing and the tools that we use.

This series of classes is more difficult than Software Techniques. Designed by Bernina, we will teach you project based techniques using more than one part of the software. It is fast paced but interesting. It will increase your knowledge of integrating the various parts of the software together to create one project. This is not a sewing class and all the work will be on your laptop with Designer Plus 8.2 loaded. Some familiarity with the software will be useful. A printout of the exact steps to produce the project and a copy of the video will be available to be loaded onto a USB stick, the student's own or one may be purchased at the Bernina desk for $12.99 The first class will be using the Quilter portion of the software. We will be designing a small quilt, applying fabrics, learning how to scan fabrics, inserting an applique and an embroidery design into the quilt. So much to learn but a great way to design your quilts.

Cost: $ 15.00
This class is to learn the many aspects of the Bernina Designer Plus V8.2 Embroidery Software. Students will work with the software installed on their laptops in class and practice the techniques. Each month will be a different technique with the exception of lettering. This class is appropriate for those new to the software or those who have owned and worked with it for sometime. The techniques taught will look at all aspects of the software from filing and organizing your designs to working with Corel designing original artwork for digitizing. The supplemental programs such as quilting, cross stitch, applique, auto-digitizing and monograms will all be covered. The techniques are taught from the Designer Plus manual so supplemental purchases are not required. January: The technique will be lettering. Most home embroiderers include some type of lettering in their designs. We will look at the many options available to you including font, types, sizes, restrictions, shaping, Word Art, break apart, small fonts, curving baseline, and many more.

Cost: $ 10.00
Join Barb in this new, all day free-style class. Spend the day in our large classroom, working on the project of your choice and in the company of other quilters. Students are of course free to work on any other project that they might be interested in, as this is a time to have fun sewing in the company of fellow sewers!

We all have many unfinished Judy patterns that have been started but then set aside. This week gives one the opportunity to pull those out and begin again where you have left off. Rosie Lysinger will be ready with each of the patterns to get you back on track. If you are ready for something new, the Starry Night pattern will also be featured this week. It was designed as a paper pieced exploding star with inset corners, consisting of a smaller series of stars. This is a Collector's Club Design, with only 500 patterns available and features the use of 8 fabrics ranging from light to dark in a coordinating color group. The project takes advantage of the Quiltworx strip piecing process for creating lone star blocks. Rosie will be your go to person, instructor and camp leader Monday through Thursday! Friday is FREE day, Rosie will not be there but students are welcome to stay in our classroom, continuing on with their projects or starting a new one!
