This beginner class is an introduction into the wonderful, creative, playful world of quilts with elongated triangles that give lots of motion to a design. In this class you will learn to cut fabric using AnglePlay templates. Mary will have templates you may use in class. If you like the method you may purchase your own set of templates. We begin with a table runner that uses only two blocks. Look at the sample hanging in the classroom and the pattern cover to get ideas for color placement. If you are having fun, stay for the afternoon session as well! There is really good news for anyone who has tried AnglePlay® and has been discouraged because of cutting partial triangles from the original templates. There are now specific templates for the side and base triangles for A,B,C and D. These templates make the cutting process very, very easy and much faster. Come to an AnglePlay® class and discover for yourself the big difference. The other part of this news is that Off The Wall Quilts developed these templates after a suggestion by our very own AnglePlay class at Sun Valley Quilts!! As always, Mary will have templates for you to borrow in class to see how you like them before you need to purchase your own. For those of you new to AnglePlay® this development will make your experience so much easier and more fun. Come give it a try. We think you will be very happy with the results. This class typically meets on the fourth Wednesday of the month. Morning Session $15

Then the cotton batting and back are added and the piece is quilted together. This class is for student who have done a little free motion quilting and want to learn more.

Value Makes The Difference ~ Beyond light, medium and dark! If you have ever been underwhelmed by a quilt or wall hanging and didn't know why, a lack of contrast is probably the culprit. An understanding of value as a tool in your quilting tool belt will help you achieve the excitement of contrast in your work. You also need a working knowledge of value to achieve realistic effects. In this class, we will learn how to see value and identify values beyond just the three common ones of light, medium and dark. We will create several small pieces of work with kits provided to you in class. This class will be especially helpful if you will be taking the Photos to Quilts Workshop.
