Students will learn a unique pattern design technique, combined with mixed media and thread painting to create an eye-catching art quilt. We will be using mixed media to create eyes and blending of fabrics, and finish with thread painting to create the fur. You will need to find a favorite photo of your animal. Make sure it is very clear and sharp with good value ranges. The animal should fill the full frame of the picture. Choose whether you want to whole body of the animal or maybe just the face, like my sample. Eyes are especially important, so make sure you can see them well. Just keep it really simple.
She began quilting 30 years ago and although she loves to create beautiful quilts, her love of art moved her into art quilting, leading to her launch of DJ's Fiber Arts. She is an award-winning fiber and multi-media artist, creating fiber art quilts, painting her own fabric, embellishing quilts with different fibers and media such as silk, wool, paints, beads and more. Today, Deb is a full-time fiber artist who enjoys sharing her knowledge through the unique and exciting classes she offers, introducing students to the amazing world of art quilts.
