8901: Bags: Intro to Bag Construction

If you wanted to make bags but have found the patterns intimidating this beginner-friendly class will teach you some of the basic skills needed, especially zipper insertion and binding. There will be three different bags offered on a rotating basis. Choose your bag or choose your day, either way come join us for a fun new dimension to your creativity! I would recommend if this is your first BY ANNIE bag that you choose a medium or large size to make first. You must come to class with your fabrics quilted using the instructions included in the pattern and all fabric cut for the size bag you decided to make.

Open Wide 2.0 ~ June 22nd or October 26th

If you are new to bag making this is a beginner bag that teaches many skills that will help you with more complicated patterns. This very useful bag is great as a makeup bag, an extra place for things to bring to class, travel and so much more. There are three sizes to choose from and you are only limited by your imagination.

Clam Up ~ August 24 or November 16th

In this basic-skills class you will be able to finish at least one bag of your choice during class. I do recommend starting with the medium size as the smaller sizes are a little more challenging but doable.

Project Bags 2.0 ~ September 28th or December 21st

This is a beginning bag that is very useful. These are very versatile bags. They make great gifts for your Quilting Friends or anyone who has hobbies and are pretty fast to make. The uses are endless from holding new projects to organizing your stuff. With four sizes to choose from you can personalize for your special needs.

"...Don’t forget to sign up for our next SEW SMART EVENT the following Saturday, 6-10-23, our other free event to you, featuring great ideas for Father’s Day!  We need a head count so our Super Chef Laurel and her Sous Chef, will be able to gage how many samples to bring in.  We will have recipes, table decorating ideas,  easy to make gifts for you to make, and much more!  Cora will be bringing in demo items you will have time to make, apron and pillowcase items made from his closet, …..Just don’t miss it, because I want to thank all of you for your loyalty and patronage to SVQ over these past 13 years!

Our special fabric category for the week will be SOUTHWEST.  It’s good for 20% off any of our southwest themed fabrics when you give us the code:  SOUTHWEST20.  And of course, that would include any of our equine fabrics and panels, in honor of Ditto-the-WonderHorse….if I could only figure out how to bottle that smell from her, I’d be so happy and so rich!  But she’s not giving away her secrets, alas!  Just remember the code SOUTHWEST20, because we have a large and fantastic southwest collection of fabrics, from baskets, Navajo rug patterns, and campfires to desert cactus patterns, blooming or non-blooming.  They bring such a content feeling of serenity to us,  after all!  Hope to see you very soon!"
