Instructor Bio:
Deb Deaton received her art degree from the Art Institute of Colorado in 1978. Since then, she has been creating art in many forms; oil, watercolor, pen and ink, charcoal, ink, mixed media, and fiber art. Trained by a top London fashion designer and seamstress, Deb began sewing her family's clothes and was a consultant for Colorado's largest Couture Bridal shop.
She began quilting 30 years ago and although she loves to create beautiful quilts, her love of art moved her into art quilting, leading to her launch of DJ's Fiber Arts. She is an award-winning fiber and multi-media artist, creating fiber art quilts, painting her own fabric, embellishing quilts with different fibers and media such as silk, wool, paints, beads and more. Today, Deb is a full-time fiber artist who enjoys sharing her knowledge through the unique and exciting classes she offers, introducing students to the amazing world of art quilts. Her motto is "NO RULES, JUST ART"
