QCT-QM-QP 201 – Basics of PatternCAD and QuiltCAD

The Pro Tier of QCT-QM includes two very powerful editing and design features, PatternCAD and QuiltCAD.  Editing features in PatternCAD can customize a pattern design for a specific space; create pattern combinations for faster pattern placement and stitching, and so much more.

Joyce Blowers will teach the basics of editing and designing patterns and quilts using the features in PatternCAD and QuiltCAD in this full day, hands-on with your tablet.

• PatternCAD: exercises will teach you how to use the draw and edit features to edit existing patterns and draw your own patterns using a background, template, and mirrors
• QuiltCAD: exercises will teach the functions to build a design wall to audition quilt patterns, design HST and QCT blocks to combine using PatternCAD functions

Come eager to expand you knowledge of these more advanced design and editing features to customize your quilt designs and patterns and solve pattern issues.

Level: Confident Beginner and above. This class is not intended to teach the basics or customization techniques in Select and Sew or Pantograph

Class Supplies: Tablet with software, charging cord, REQUIRED a pencil stylus or mouse, or both. Using a soft stylus or finger will not work for the fine detail required.

Software Requirement:

• QCT: Ver 5 or 6+ or higher
• Quiltmagine: Ver 5 or 6
• Quilt Path: Ver 5 or 6 (includes all features including Gold)

Note: Classes are open to students regardless of the tier they own. Classes are the perfect opportunity to learn how to use features in a higher tier using demo mode (not the same as simulation mode). Work in demo mode, however, can’t be saved or stitched.
